Celebrating 35 Years of NAND Flash

KIOXIA Flash Forever Changed Our World

Some of you may recall that back in 2012 we held our year-long celebration of the 25^th anniversary of the invention of NAND flash. It seems just like yesterday, but fast forward 10 years and now, with 2022 upon us, we are excited to kick off the celebration of the 35^th anniversary of our invention of this technology that has changed the way we live, work and play.

This 35^th anniversary milestone gives KIOXIA an opportunity to celebrate our achievements and years of unprecedented innovation, acknowledge our world-class team and tip our caps to NAND flash memory.

Looking back, this technology we invented in 1987 has had an incredibly profound global impact – and truly brings our mission to uplift the world with “memory” to life. Consider this:

To consumers across the globe, NAND technology has enabled the mobility of content that we have come to rely on every day.
To the businessperson, NAND technology has made possible the ‘thin and light’ we have come to expect with notebooks, tablets, and other devices.
And more recently, to the cloud service providers, NAND technology has enabled high-density, scalable storage—offering lower low latency with environmental efficiency.

Flash memory is the enabling technology that has touched us all in some way. Now that is truly something to celebrate.

So, we hope you’ll join us as we kick off a year of celebrations – there will be many events held throughout 2022 celebrating the 35^th anniversary.
