Flash memory has become the backbone of modern storage, driving everything from data centers to AI applications. As our reliance on massive data streams continues to grow, the need for faster, more efficient, higher-capacity storage solutions becomes critical - making flash memory even more indispensable when it comes to powering the technologies of tomorrow.
As the inventors of this game-changing technology, KIOXIA is proud to continue to lead the way forward. We’re developing advanced solutions that meet the demands of today’s data-driven world, pushing the boundaries of memory density, performance, and efficiency.
With the introduction of the 8th generation of our BiCS FLASHTM 3D flash memory, KIOXIA debuted an entirely new architecture designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of applications: CMOS Directly Bonded to Array (CBA) technology. We’ve combined vertical and lateral scaling to create greater capacity with fewer layers - resulting in higher density, smaller die size and optimized costs.
Leveraging this unique architecture, we introduced the industry’s highest capacity memory device1 – our 2Tb QLC – and we won’t stop pushing to develop more industry-leading memory products in anticipation of the growing demand for data storage solutions.
We believe that this advancement is pivotal in meeting the need for efficient, high-density storage in data centers and AI-driven applications. Our latest BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory is already receiving positive feedback for its reliability and performance, and we are excited about the potential it holds for the future of storage.
Looking ahead, we see the demand for high-density, low-power storage solutions continuing to grow. At KIOXIA, we remain committed to working with our partners and customers to develop innovative flash memory technologies that will create a more connected, efficient society.

1: As of July 3, 2024. KIOXIA survey.
In every mention of a KIOXIA product: Product density is identified based on the density of memory chip(s) within the Product, not the amount of memory capacity available for data storage by the end user. Consumer-usable capacity will be less due to overhead data areas, formatting, bad blocks, and other constraints, and may also vary based on the host device and application. For details, please refer to applicable product specifications. The definition of 1KB = 2^10 bytes = 1,024 bytes. The definition of 1Gb = 2^30 bits = 1,073,741,824 bits. The definition of 1GB = 2^30 bytes = 1,073,741,824 bytes. 1Tb = 2^40 bits = 1,099,511,627,776 bits.
