No Limits: KIOXIA Scales AI to New Heights at FMS 2025

No Limits KIOXIA Scales AI to New Heights at FMS 2025

FMS 2025 in San Jose brought together the world’s innovators shaping the future of memory and storage – and, once again, Kioxia was right at the center of the action.

From the show floor to the keynote hall, we showcased how our flash memory and SSD innovations are driving scalable, efficient infrastructure for AI. With product debuts, milestone announcements, and packed educational sessions - including the opening keynote – Kioxia made a powerful impact at FMS 2025, showing how we’re redefining what’s possible for tomorrow’s AI-driven infrastructure.

Breakthrough Storage for the AI Era

At the center of our presence was the debut of the KIOXIA LC9 Series NVMe™ SSD - the industry’s first 245.76 TB drive1.  Purpose-built for the performance and efficiency demands of generative AI environments, this milestone drive received an FMS ‘Best of Show’ award in the ‘SSD Technology’ category.

We also highlighted the KIOXIA CM9 Series and KIOXIA CD9P Series, built on our 8th-generation BiCS FLASH™ 3D flash memory. These solutions deliver the performance, power efficiency, and versatility needed to support AI training and inference across data centers, enterprise applications, and beyond.

Pushing Flash Forward

As you would expect from the inventors of flash memory - innovation didn’t stop there. Attendees got a first look at our 9th-generation BiCS FLASH™ technology, which utilizes our CBA (CMOS directly Bonded to Array) architecture. With 1 Tb 3 bit/cell technology and a 32-die stack QLC design, this generation provides improvements in data read speed and power consumption, PI-LLT and SCA.

AI-Ready Data Centers are Made With Kioxia

Our sessions and keynote reinforced this message of scaling AI without limits, exploring how to find the right balance for generative AI, machine learning, and other demanding workloads. From cost efficiency to breakthrough scalability, Kioxia solutions give organizations the foundation to accelerate AI innovation.

FMS 2025 gave us the perfect opportunity to connect with customers, partners, and peers who share our vision. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth or joined us for a session. Together, we’re strengthening the ecosystem that makes true progress in infrastructure possible.

Definition of SSD capacity: Kioxia Corporation defines a kilobyte (KB) as 1,000 bytes, a megabyte (MB) as 1,000,000 bytes, a gigabyte (GB) as 1,000,000,000 bytes, a terabyte (TB) as 1,000,000,000,000 bytes, and a kibibyte (KiB) is 1,024 bytes. A computer operating system, however, reports storage capacity using powers of 2 for the definition of 1GB = 2^30 bytes = 1,073,741,824 bytes and 1TB = 2^40 bytes = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes and therefore shows less storage capacity. Available storage capacity (including examples of various media files) will vary based on file size, formatting, settings, software and operating system, and/or pre-installed software applications, or media content. Actual formatted capacity may vary.

The flash memory capacity is calculated as 1 terabit (1 Tb) = 1,099,511,627,776 (2^40) bits, and 1 terabyte (1 TB) = 1,099,511,627,776 (2^40) bytes.

NVMe is a registered or unregistered trademark of NVM Express, Inc. in the United States and other countries.

Read and write speed may vary depending on various factors such as host devices, software (drivers, OS etc.), and read/write conditions.
