As the world's largest auto tech conference and exhibition, TU-Automotive is the place to be for an insider’s look at the future of connected auto mobility. This was our first time as an exhibitor – and Detroit did not disappoint.
Technology advances in automotive information and entertainment systems, ADAS1 and autonomous driving continue to push storage demands higher and higher – and the road to a better driver experience is paved with flash memory. Toshiba Memory was at TU-Automotive to demonstrate our wide array of flash-based storage solutions that meet the demanding requirements of automotive applications. It’s something we’re ideally suited to do – our flash memory leadership position combined with our long history with UFS2 gives us an edge when it comes to anticipating and supporting these evolving applications.
Foot traffic to our booth was steady, and several of the world’s leading automotive companies - as well as up-and-coming automotive technology manufacturers - stopped by to talk flash memory solutions with us. Additionally, our director of managed flash memory products, Scott Beekman, delivered a presentation during the “Connected Services & Data” session stream. Titled, “Flash Memory Trends in Automotive,” Scott’s presentation was well-attended and our message detailing the transition to Automotive UFS away from e-MMC3 resonated loud and clear.
As the checkered flag waves on this edition of TU-Automotive, the team at Toshiba Memory America is already racing forward with the design and introduction of the innovative flash and solid state drives that will enable our customers to transform this market. It’s exciting to think about how much automotive applications – and the entire driver experience – will change in the coming year.
