So Long Dell Technologies World 2018…It’s been ‘Real’!

Data, data and more data. At Dell Technologies World 2018 (the event formerly known as Dell EMC World) data was at the center of everything. In the words of Michael Dell, “If you know how to use it, your data will become your most valuable asset."

“Make it Real” was the theme of this year’s show, which is all about Dell’s mission to bring the digital transformation of the data center to life. The key to realizing this mission? Flash-based storage.  That’s where we come in. Toshiba’s best in class SSD solutions bring the performance and efficiency boosts that HDDs simply can’t and are being used to optimize Dell solutions across multiple business lines. Toshiba has been a Dell Diamond-level partner for two years running, and we were out in force at the conference to highlight the wide variety of Dell solutions that feature our SSDs.

The more than 14,000 customers, analysts, partners and members of the press that were in attendance were invited to see our solid state drive and shared accelerated storage software solutions for themselves. We conducted demos of our recently announced datacenter-specific HK6 SATA and CD5 NVMe™ SSDs which both leverage Toshiba’s state-of-the-art 96-layer BiCS FLASH™ 3D memory, as well as highlighted our innovative KumoScaleTM NVMe-oF shared accelerated storage software.

All of the fun activity didn’t stop at our booth. We also participated in several sessions throughout the show. Steve Fingerhut, our SVP and GM of the SSD BU, had the pleasure of introducing “guru speaker” Andrew McAfee, who gave a talk on business advice. Steve was also interviewed live on The Cube – you can check it out here - and we hosted several breakout sessions called ‘Security Begins with the Drive.’

As we leave the glittering lights of Vegas behind us, we’re already looking forward to Dell Technologies World 2019. Hope to see some of you there! In the meantime check out our video recap, read all about what the TMA team was up to on the show floor here, and check out more of the action on our Twitter feed.
